A Safe, Effective Approach to Learning to Swim

One-on-one instruction focused on essential water safety skills

Infant + Toddler Swim Lessons

Serving Long Island Since 2013

These lessons are designed to teach young children how to respond independently if they ever end up in water unexpectedly.

Instruction focuses on essential water safety skills — including breath control, rolling from face-down to back, and floating calmly — with progression guided by each child’s developmental readiness.

All lessons are taught one-on-one, in a calm and structured environment, with the goal of building reliable, repeatable responses in the water.

Who Are Lessons For?

These lessons are designed for children 6 months and older and families who want to introduce water safety early, during the most effective years for learning.

They are best suited for parents who are committed to consistency, individualized instruction, and understanding the learning process — not just the outcome.

Lesson Structure

How sessions are designed to support learning

Children attend lessons 4 days per week (Monday through Thursday) for a maximum of 10 minutes per lesson, typically over 4–6 weeks, depending on each child’s progression.

Short, frequent lessons support how young children learn motor skills, allowing practice to remain focused, effective, and developmentally appropriate. The goal is reliable, independent responses in the water — not short-term familiarity.

What This Looks Like for Families

  • Your child attends the same lesson time throughout the session

  • Lessons are short, focused, and predictable

  • Consistency supports learning and reduces overwhelm

Progression + Expectations

Every child progresses at a different pace. Some children move quickly, while others need more time — both are normal and appropriate. Progression is guided by readiness and consistency, not comparison.

Safety + Readiness

Prior to starting lessons, families complete a brief medical and developmental intake to ensure instruction is safe and appropriate for each child.

Enrollment & Scheduling

What to know before reserving a lesson time

Lessons are offered in structured sessions, with families reserving a consistent lesson time for the duration of the session. Enrollment is limited to maintain one-on-one instruction and support consistent learning.

Families should be prepared to commit to at least 6 weeks of lessons, as consistency is essential for skill development.

  • Ages: 6 months and older

  • Schedule: Monday–Thursday

  • Lesson length: Up to 10 minutes

  • Session length: Typically 4–6 weeks

  • Format: One-on-one instruction

Survival swim lessons are offered as a structured program rather than individual drop-in sessions, reflecting the frequency of instruction and individualized format provided throughout the session.

Devon, Cutchogue

I travel an hour each way to lessons and I would do it over and over again because of how confident I am in Kristine’s ability as an instructor.

Marykate, Port Jeff

"Kristine gained my trust quickly as I watched her ease my son into the pool.  She knew exactly what he was capable of...

Joining SEAL Team was the best decision we made for him."

Katy, Bayport

Kristine has credentials unlike any survival swim instructor. Having a PT handling my children and dedicated to their safety made for an amazing experience. Her professionalism, patience, and love for her small clients shines through every day.
